The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recently issued a recruitment notification for the post of joint geological and geological examination, 2019. Applicants and eligible candidates should apply for positions before the deadline to avoid the last hour of the crowd.

Category I: Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines


(i) Geologist, Group A: 50
(ii) Geophysics, Group A: 14
(iii) Chemist, Group A: 15

Category II: Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources

(i) Junior Hydraulist (Scientist B), Group A: 27

Age limit (up to January 1, 2019)

• To apply for the post of geologist and geophysicist and chemist (group 'A'), the candidate's age should be between 21 and 32 years.

• Candidates should be between 21 and 35 years of age to apply for the post of junior hydrogologist (Scientist B) (Group A).

Ex-servicemen category candidates and scheduled castes / scheduled tribes will be exempted up to five years of age.

Educational qualification

Candidates applying for the exam should ensure that they meet all eligibility conditions for admission in the examination. His entry at all stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Geologist's Group 'A' in Geological Survey of India: Candidates should obtain a postgraduate degree in geological science or geology or applied geology or underground exploration or mineral exploration or engineering geology or earth science and earth science and resource management. Or study of ocean science and coastal areas or petroleum geology or petroleum exploration or geo-chemistry or geological technology from a recognized university.

Geophysicist 'A' in Geological Survey of India: For this post, the candidate must have a masters degree in Physics or Applied Physics or MSc (Geophysics) or Integrated MSc (Exploration Geophysics or MSc (Applied Geophysics) or MSc (Marine). Geophysics from the University also recognized) or MSc (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics).

Chemists India A in the Geological Survey of India: A candidate for M. SC In any chemistry or applied chemistry or analytical chemistry from a recognized university.

Junior Hydrogologist (Scientist B) in the Central Ground Water Board, Group in A ': Candidates must have a masters degree in geology or applied geology or marine geology from a recognized university. To apply for this post, he may be the master's degree officer in hydrology.

Physical standard


Candidates should be physically fit according to physical standards for admission in the examination, according to the regulations given in Appendix-2 of the joint geo-scientific and geological examinations, 2019, in the Gazette of India, March 20, 2019 Will enter.
